Example of a trip fishing in the best rivers of northern Spain:

Index

Day 1

Rivers on Aigües Tortes and Sant Maurici National Park.

Aigües Tortes and Sant Maurici National Park provide a splendid example of the granite Pyrenees. Its mountain streams and lakes are home to flourishing populations of brown and brook trout. Fishing is allowed in its peripheral protection zone.

Some of its rivers are the Garona, Flamisell, Noguera Ribagorzana and Noguera Pallaresa.

This is a World Heritage site with great natural beauty and many Romanesque churches.

You and your companion will enjoy a pleasant gourmet meal by the river while enjoying the surrounding scenery.

We can offer your companion a private visit to the National Park or a tour of the churches and Romanesque villages in the area, or if they prefer they can accompany you on your fishing day.

Day 2

Rivers of Posets Maladeta Natural Park.

Posets Maladeta Natural Park is unique in the world as a home for species such as the Bearded Vulture, Galemys pyrenaicus, Brown Bear, Capercaillie…
Fishing in the Natural Park is sublime: impressive alpine landscapes, crystal-clear mountain streams, and aggressive dry-fly trout. Can you ask for more?

Some of its rivers are the Esera, Cinca, Cinqueta, Noguera Ribagorzana and many mountain lakes.

You and your companion will enjoy a meal in a charming traditional restaurant.
For your companion, we offer guided hiking activities to observe flora and fauna unique to this area.

Day 3

Trophy brown trout in the rivers of the Pre-Pyrenees plains.

One of our top rivers runs at the foot of the Pre-Pyrenees. It is a river of crystalline waters but with a great contribution of organic matter.

The temperature conditions of the water added to the amount of food allow the brown and rainbow trout to reach exceptional size unseen in the rest of the world. Its fishing is technical and complicated, but it holds great surprises.

The fishing day will be interrupted at midday to enjoy a delicious meal of Spanish paella with white wine.

Day 4

Rivers of the Guara Canyons Natural Park.

This inland Natural Park offers the possibility for fishing some of the best-preserved populations of zebra trout in Spain.

Its water sculpted canyons and rivers are home to incredible populations of vultures and eagles.

This is a frontier location between the alpine climate of the Pyrenees and the sunny Mediterranean weather.

Its best known rivers are the Isuela, Flumen, Vero, Alcanadre, Guatizalema, Isuala…

After a morning of fishing, we will enjoy a traditional meal accompanied by award-winning Somontano wines of the region.

Companions can choose adventure sports such as canyoning, cultural visits to castles, defensive villages, and monasteries, or tour the local wineries.

Day 5

Rivers of Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.

The peripheral area of the Ordesa National Park offers many fishing possibilities. Its crystalline waters have very good populations of zebra trout.

This is where the Ara River is located, the last wild river in the Pyrenees. Other renowned rivers are the Cinca, Cinqueta, Bellos…

In order to access the best fishing areas, it is necessary to have the authorization to drive on private tracks with restricted access. This won’t be a problem for our local guides, we know every corner of the region and have special authorization to access restricted sites.

Can you imagine fishing in glacial valleys declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO?

The possible activities we arrange for companions are private tours in 4×4 vehicles through the National Park, hiking, visiting traditional villages and tasting of tapas, flying in gyrocopter …

Day 6

River of the Secret Valley.

The Pyrenees still hide places of great beauty and solitude, where only cowbells and the whistles of marmots can be heard.

According to many fishermen, this secret valley with restricted access is in a state of conservation similar to the «day of creation».

Take the opportunity to catch your breath, relax, disconnect from the daily routine, and enjoy excellent 100% dry fly.

It is a great place for companions to enjoy because of its accessibility and beauty.

Day 7

Aragon River and the Grand Slam.

Many fishermen dream of doing a saltwater Grand Slam in one day. (bonefish, tarpon, and permit). Do you dare to take up the challenge of trying to do a freshwater Grand Slam in the Pyrenees?

With good conditions, we can try to catch three different species on the same day: Brook tout, Zebra trout, and Barbel.

Day 8

Rivers of the Valles Occidentales Natural Park.

The Valles Occidentales Natural Park is a protected natural area of the Pyrenees with Atlantic climate influences. It has lush beech and fir forests and green meadows grazed by cattle. Here you will experience those famous landscapes described by Ernest Hemingway in his novel The Sun Also Rises.

The rivers that cross this Protected Natural Area from north to south are: the river Veral, Aragón Subordán, Estarrún or Osia
You will experience fishing for beautiful Mediterranean trout and later enjoy traditional cuisine in a farm restaurant.
